D.C. Days

We regret to inform that DC Days will NOT take place in May 2023, due to the inability to visit some of the major sponsors we typically go to while in Washington. We will look ahead to Spring 202 and hope to return to Washington D.C. then.

Capitol BuildingD.C. DAYS PROGRAM

Each year, the CFAES Office for Research and Graduate Education and the Grant Development Support Unit (GDSU) arrange for CFAES faculty to travel to Washington, DC. Typically, a group visit is arranged for 2-3 days in May. This trip allows researchers to become more competitive by providing an opportunity to visit with federal program officers. This enables researchers to determine whether their basic concept is a good fit with the sponsor's mission, to seek advice concerning project design and appropriate funding track, and to better understand the peer review process. Meetings with program officers will take place at federal agency offices in Washington, D.C.

Faculty from the College of Education and Human Ecology sometimes accompany the CFAES group to encourage collaborative grant seeking. We hope to provide this experience to 10 CFAES faculty, determined through the competitive application process. Applications are accepted from any interested faculty member; however, priority is given to those with the rank of Assistant Professor, especially those who have grant writing experience.
