    Mark your calendar for the 2024 National 4-H Conference to be held April 19-24 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia. Known as “the Secretary’s Conference,” this Conference is the flagship youth development opportunity of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  Register for this informational session to learn about the National 4-H Conference history, objectives, schedule, chaperone roles, policies and registration process.

    What on Earth can we do in central Ohio with our plastics?! Macro-level analyses of carbon emissions from plastic recycling show there are problems and opportunities in making and using these materials. This program, co-hosted with Ohio State’s Facilities Operations and Development, Sustainability & Strategic Services, and the Sustainability Institute, will examine plastic from “Zero Waste” and “Circular Economy” perspectives through the lenses of product design, materials, outreach, and policy.

    The Agricultural Outlook and Policy Conference is the premier annual forum related to Ohio’s agricultural and food industry, covering issues important to producers, agribusinesses, and elected officials. This in-person event is limited to the first 100 registrants. Check-in and refreshments begin at 7:30 a.m. Lunch is included. There is no charge for this event.

    To celebrate Native American Heritage Month, the Director of the USDA Office of Tribal Relations Heather Dawn Thompson will provide an overview of the USDA Indigenous Food Sovereignty Initiative. Then, staff from NIFA and the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) will highlight relevant resources.  NIFA stakeholders including academics, practitioners, and decision makers working to prioritize nutrition security using research, education, and/or Extension, with a special interest in approaches to promote Indigenous Food Sovereignty.

    The annual Interdisciplinary Research Fall Forum, hosted by the Translational Data Analytics Institute and the Sustainability Institute, will feature the theme: Computational Approaches for a Just and Sustainable World. Co-hosted by TDAI and the Sustainability Institute.

We invite interested applicants to learn more about this program area priority and to meet our team during a live FAQ event.
